There will be a Commissioner Election on December 13, 2022
Location: Headquarters - 20 Francis Mooney Drive
The forecasted Fire Danger Rating Remains at: MODERATE
Fires can start from most accidental causes but, with the exception of lightning fires in some areas, (which are rare on Long Island), the number of starts is generally low. Fires in open cured grasslands will burn briskly and spread rapidly on windy days. Timber fires spread slowly to moderately fast.
This fire danger level is indicated by the color yellow along with the word HIGH on fire danger signs. Fire Danger Signs are located on along the northbound lanes of the William Floyd Parkway just south of the Brookhaven National Lab entrance and at the DEC trail parking area on the north side of Route 25 west of Woodlot Road. This alert will remain posted until the danger level changes.
